"I always aim to exceed clients' expectations" Joshua Boyle
Joshua Boyle having been awarded the 2011 Australian Master Builders Rising Star, arrived in Thailand initially to work on the construction of the luxury Dean & Deluca restaurant adjoining what was to be Thailand’s tallest skyscraper, the US$ 450 million MahaNakhon Tower.
This brought him to the attention of the main developer Pace, who quickly recruited him into the role of Senior Vice President of Construction where he took total responsibility for the building of the main tower.

It was here that he first assembled the Alpha Project Management Team as described in the biographies that follow.
Following completion of the tower, Joshua spent several years in the USA where, as President of Interserv LP California, he achieved growth rates of over 30% per annum for three successive years.
Joshua returned to Thailand in late 2021 where he helped Holbrook Asia break into the luxury construction market in Phuket, before reforming the Alpha Project Management Team:
Tony Smith originally built several successful businesses in the mechanical and electrical engineering sector of the UK construction industry.
Later, Tony worked exensively in the Middle East in various Commercial Management roles in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar. The latter was for Shell’s US$ 24 billion gas to liquid plant (pictured), the largest GTL plant in the World.
In 2013, Tony joined Archetype Group in the project management team for the construction of MahaNakhon tower but within a year was offered the move to Pace Developments by Joshua Boyle, and so the Alpha Project Management Team was formed.
Following completion of the tower and Joshua’s moved to the USA, Tony briefly assumed another role with Archetype before setting up his own company, AMEANA (Thailand) Co. Ltd, where he carried out a range of Project Management and Quantity Surveying services for a number of customers including Archetype. Then in 2022, he started working with Joshua again and following high customer demand, partnered with Joshua in the formal esablishment of Alpha Project Management Ltd.
Darren Gilligan started his career as an electrician but his passion for helping his team achieve the excellence that Darren was so commited to led him increasingly into construction and project management roles.
Darren arrived in Thailand in the role of MEP Manager for Archetype on the MahaNakhon project and, like Tony who was then Commercial Manager, Darren was soon recruited by Joshua who recognised his strong people skills and detailed MEP knowledge.
Darren’s attention to detail and determination to ensure jobs were done right led to him being offered the role of Deputy Head of Construction Development with Pace Devlopment in Vietnam. Here he successfully delivered a number of major projects.
However, when the call came from Joshua, Darren had no hesitation in jumping on a plane back to Thailand and team up with his old team at Alpha Project Management.
Patrick Shaw started his construction career as an apprentice working for Joshua in Australia. Seeing his high level of commitment and natural problem-solving ability, Joshua would ensure he always involved Patrick in any major construction project.
Patrick’s big break came when Joshua wanted him to assume a construction management role on MahaNakhon, forming the final member of the team. Although hesitant, because it wa his first management role, Tony Smith took Patrick under his wing and Patrick quickly developed into a superb manager.
Patrick’s performance was so outstanding that Joshua had no hesitation in later offering him roles in the USA where he elevated to the position of Project Manager and then Project Director inhis return to Thailand to again work with Joshua as part of the now reformed Alpha Project Management Team.
